The Apartment – in reality…

in J&L Make a House a Home

Since the day we moved in, I’ve wanted to take pictures of the apartment with our stuff actually in it! At first I wanted to wait until we got everything unpacked. Then I wanted to wait until we got some stuff hung on the walls. Then I wanted to wait until it was super clean and ready for pictures.

The fact of the matter is, we never 100% unpacked, we never hung anything on the walls, and this place has only been as clean as I was hoping like once this whole year. And suddenly, with a gorgeous house on the horizon, I realized it didn’t have to be perfect.

As we near the end of our time here, I wanted to make sure to at least give you an idea of how we really used this space for the last 10 months. This is how it looks on the daily. It’s not pretty, but it’s real.

View from the couch. Watching HGTV as always!

View of the couches. On a work from home day, I’m always curled up in a blanket. And there’s Bailey, in his favorite spot, looking out the window.

From the living room, looking into the dining/kitchen. As you can see, we have art to hang, we just never got around to hanging it. We also started packing, so some of those shelves are empty, but aren’t usually.

The kitchen into the laundry room. It’s never great back there, but right now it’s even more of a disaster as we pack!

The bathroom. That’s the penguin set I got right out of college. I think it’ll finally be time to upgrade to something more mature in the new house!

The spare bedroom. This room isn’t always this bad, but it is our drop hole for anything that doesn’t have a better place to go.

The master bedroom. For most of our time here, it was pretty empty, but when Jut had to get his stuff from his mom’s house, it all came piled into here! (We can’t wait for more storage space!) And no, we never make our bed.

So there you have it. A realistic view of our first apartment! I promise to do better at keeping you up-to-date on what we do in the new house, starting with a video tour that I plan to film the first night we can get inside, before we move any of our stuff in! I’m excited!!!
