10 Weeks

in J&L Start a Family, Weeble Bi-Weekly

I wasn’t going to do these because I’m trying to make a conscious effort of not blowing up my feed with baby news. After spending 2 years fighting to get here, I know how hard it is to watch other people providing constant updates, and I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. I do, however, want to document this experience for us, and I want to savor our chance to do our own celebrating! Also, I was told on Facebook today that people are anxious to see my bump, so I’ve decided to post these bi-weekly, and you can choose for yourselves if you want to take the time to read them or not.

The first photo is last week, the second is this week. Not much difference, but you can see my belly better in the shirt I was wearing last week. Note to self: wear lighter shirts for these photos.

How far along: 10 Weeks

How big is baby: According to the Pregnancy+ app, Weeble is currently the size of a Date (0.14oz, 1.22in)

Sleep: I’ve always been a bad sleeper, but it’s terrible right now! I wake up in the middle of the night to pee and then can’t fall back to sleep. Or I just lay there and toss and turn all night. I’m seriously considering investing in a Snoogle, but the price tag makes me shudder. Everyone keeps telling me it’s worth it, so I think I just need to pull the trigger.

Excited about: I’m still not over the fact that we got to hear a heartbeat last week! I have it on my phone and every time I’m feeling worried about anything, I listen and instantly feel better <3

Anxious about: Not having another doctor appointment until July 10th. A lot can happen in a month, and I hate that we won’t know for sure that everything is progressing for another few weeks!

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Let me put it this way, when we met with the dr two weeks ago, he said “You can’t build your baby with bread.” I’ve been doing my best to add in some veggies! I have a major aversion to grilled chicken for some reason, but I’ll scarf down hotdogs like nobody’s business. I’ve also been eating a lot of cereal and I can’t get enough fruit. I haven’t had any real cravings yet, but last night at the grocery store I was suddenly begging Justin to let me buy pop-tarts. I haven’t eaten those in years!

Gender: Too early to know, but we’re definitely going to find out when we can!

Movement: Again, too early. I can’t wait to start feeling it, so I know it’s really in there!

The belly: As you can see from the photos above, I’m officially at that stage where I’m sure people look at me and think “is she pregnant or just getting fat?” For the record, I’m pretty sure at this point I’m just getting fat! I’ve been eating SO MUCH more than I used to and as of Monday, I can’t button my favorite jeans so I’ve resorted to using the hair-tie trick.

Miscellaneous: If you know me at all, you know that I often have really off the wall, crazy dreams. They have gotten exponentially worse with pregnancy, and almost daily I wake up and just go “WTF?!” As an example, last night I had a dream that I gained 160 pounds carrying this baby. That was a nightmare. Oh, and also, I really hate not being able to dye my hair! It looks awful right now! July 7th (second trimester) can’t get here soon enough.

Best moment of the week: I started playing around with a baby registry this week! I’m just throwing some ideas together, but it’s so much fun that we’re finally able to think about this stuff after all this time!

Be back in two weeks with another update!

Great idea Linsdey…..I, for one will enjoy reading about your journey. I tried to post a comment earlier, but it didn’t seem to take, so I did it again.

Oh Lindsey, I am just so happy for you guys! I will enjoy reading these posts as I always love hearing about people’s pregnancies – it just fascinates me! And I am sure you will be glad that you documented this time!

I am so excited for you, and I love how happy you look in those photos!

(The Snoogle appears to be less expensive by a LOT at Toys ‘r’ Us.)

never mind–apparently that’s the mini.

Thanks! I found the full size one cheaper at Burlington, but the store closest to us didn’t have it in stock. I’m gonna check another location, and have my mom check the Erie one. Worst case, I’ll pay shipping to order it from their website!
