If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’m participating in Ali Edwards’ Week in the Life! I’m super excited, as this is the first time I’m putting real effort into completing this project. I think it will be awesome to have a mini album that showcases what our life looks like right now, especially since Althea is growing up TOO fast, and things will be so different at this time next year! In an effort to keep things organized, and so I don’t forget the details when I go to put my album together next week, I’ve decided to post about each day here! I hope you enjoy a little peek inside our day-to-day life, beyond what we’d normally post on Social Media :)

Tuesday Reflections

Baby Bird was NOT ready to wake up when I went in to get her this morning. She took her time letting me pick her up and then was extra cuddly once we got downstairs. I am so grateful for every moment of these mornings together because I know they will be so different in the coming years.

All ready to go to Tammy’s! Being a working mom is hard, but we’re grateful that Althea loves her sitter, and never makes us feel bad for dropping her off, is a huge help.

Diving right in this morning. Responding to emails and putting together some information as a follow-up to a call from yesterday. Grateful for a husband who always has my first cup of tea ready and waiting for me!

Jut’s commute to work. Grateful that he gets to drive away from the city with no traffic!

Time for a second cup of tea! My favorite teapot has a burnt bottom due to me forgetting about it on more than one occasion. Someday I will replace it, but for now, I’m grateful that it still works, even if it’s ugly!

This exact text exchange happens every single morning. It’s followed by a “leaving” – “be careful” at the end of the day. Grateful for the extra opportunity to say I Love You.

I’ve been head down in spreadsheets all morning, so obviously I deserve a treat! Grateful for the chance to indulge. FaveReds for the win!

Confession: This is the state of my dresser right now. Grateful that the rest of the house is in great shape after hosting Easter, but since no one comes in here, I haven’t taken the time to fix it. Also, the attic-turned-closet is still in progress, and I can’t help but wonder if this will give Justin a push to finish it quickly!

For a brief moment I thought “maybe I’ll eat my lunch out on the deck!” but then I remembered that we have a wasp nest in the hot tub. Grateful for this home, even if we’re hoping to move on next year.

My hostas are always the first thing to show up, and they get REALLY BIG REALLY FAST. Grateful for a chance to step outside in the middle of the day and enjoy a little nature.

Another lunchtime yogacamp session in the books. I’ve decided this will be the one photo I make sure to include every day this week! Grateful for a visual representation of my progress.

It’s swimming day!! Mama was NOT looking forward to the freezing water, but it was actually slightly warmer than usual! Thea enjoys it more each week, and we’re making some good progress! She’ll be spending her whole summer at the beach and her cousin’s pools, so we’re grateful that she’s becoming comfortable in the water!

More ITIL studying. I took a practice test and got 24 right, which isn’t bad considering I’ve barely even looked at the content since October. Needed 26 to pass, so at least I know I’m close and should have no problem closing the gap over the next two days. Grateful for technology, which, for us, is both a hobby and a career.

Took a break from studying to do a blogilates workout. Finished her 5-minute Long Lean Legs workout and now I might not be able to walk tomorrow. Grateful for the increased strength I am gaining.

My pre-bed routine right now. My mom bought me this weird sponge for my face because it’s been a mess post-partum and I’m willing to try anything at this point. I don’t understand what’s so special about it, but so far I’m liking the results! Grateful for a mom who always seems to find the “next best beauty product.”

Thea really only wakes in the middle of the night if she’s lost her binkie, which is rare. Tonight I’m also struggling to sleep, so I’m grateful for a little more snuggle time with my girl.
